Two Island Cluster meeting, 14-16 July 2023

The Matariki* long weekend saw 15 ringers, plus family, representing every tower in New Zealand gather at the Kowhai mini ring in Oamaru for a Two Island Cluster (TIC) meeting.

The meeting got off to a good start with three ringers scoring their first ever handbell peal.

10 quarter peals were scored, including several doubles to enable one of the attendees to practice covering. Some ringers visited for the first time, so general ringing helped them improve handling on a mini ring.

We also managed to celebrate a birthday and Matariki, with several meals and drinks and, of course, Cake!

The next TIC will be held in Wellington, from 20th to 23rd October 2023.
