On Saturday 21 March the Bellringers of St James Old Cathedral, Melbourne, will be holding their inaugural Festival of Bells.

This innovative afternoon aims to publicise bells and bellringing, forge new ties with the immediate neighbourhood as well as the broader Melbourne community, further the collaboration between the tower and the parish community, and bring ringers, friends, and neighbours together to have fun.

The afternoon includes ringing demonstrations, musical performances, tower and church tours, activities for children, and a sausage sizzle. The Federation Handbells and a vocal ensemble will be part of the world-premiere performances of new musical compositions involving bells. Bell designer Anton Hassell will demonstrate the casting of a small bell.

This page supplements the ANZAB Tower Directory, and records further information about the tower, its bells and ringers.

Some of this has been provided by local ringers, but most is historical and has been gathered by the ANZAB Webmaster since 2002.

Tower officers are encouraged to submit material for inclusion on this page, or suggest changes to its content.
