ASCY Master's Challenge and Dinner in Sydney

Logo

All Australian ringers (members and non-members) are invited to take part in "The Master's Challenge" and to attend the ASCY Oz25 Tour Dinner on 2 March 2025 in Sydney; both part of an Australia wide ringing tour by members of the Ancient Society of College Youths from around the world.

The Master's Challenge is a "no-pressure", "good-fun" ringing event with four mixed teams of up to 14, with each team made up of ASCY Members, non-Members, visitors and local ringers. Everyone is very welcome. There will be four "challenges" - on 6, 8, 10 and 12 bells - with everyone ringing at least 3 times. Challenges will range from ringing up on 6 and a short touch of doubles, to an unseen Surprise Major method, a 10-bell touch with bells drawn from a hat in the tower and a short touch of Grandsire Cinques. The results will be announced at the Tour Dinner later in the day. The event will take place at Sydney City towers on the afternoon of Sunday 2 March 2025.

The Tour Dinner will take place on Sunday 2 March (after the Challenge) at 6pm at L'Aqua restaurant, Cockle Bay Wharf, Darling Harbour, Sydney. Tickets are $130 a head and include pre-dinner drinks*, a 3 course meal (with alternate drop) and all drinks (*beer, wine, soft drinks, tea and coffee) until 11pm. All local ringers and partners/friends are invited to attend.

Australian non-members (and their partners/friends) can register for the Challenge and/or the Tour Dinner here. Registrations and payment close on Sunday 16 February 2025.

It's hoped that lots of local ringers will join the events and welcome the visiting ringers to Sydney.
