Supporting recruitment & training at remote towers – your input is invited

At the ANZAB 2025 AGM, the following motion was passed: ...the AGM suggest that the Board considers in particular the following issues:
a: publicity for ringing in ANZAB
b: increasing the size of bands in remote towers that need assistance
with a view to both seeing what further steps can be taken within ANZAB to tackle these problems, and also to keeping a watchful eye on any relevant initiatives that emerge from Ringing 2030.

As a first step in addressing part (b) above,the ANZAB Directors have asked me to form a Remote Recruitment and Training subcommittee. I am looking for two ANZAB members to join me and Matthew Farthing (Bundaberg) to coordinate the work of the subcommittee. If you have experience with, or interest in, remote bands, great listening skills, and are ready to suggest and consider new ideas, we want to hear from you!

Volunteering as a member of the subcommittee will not consume your time with lots of meetings; nor will you necessarily be expected to enact any of our ideas. We will work together to formulate a plan and make recommendations to the ANZAB Directors, aiming for a progress report to be delivered to the 2026 AGM. Recommendations may include requests for funding to support recruitment and training with a remote tower focus.

Our first phase of work will be consultation across regional and remote towers, so if you don't want to be on the committee but do have something to say, we want to hear from you. There will be more information on this shortly.
